This week we welcome Bearsted to Wested Meadow in what should be an excellent game.
Bearsted finished runners up last season and are favourites this time and like us have made a good start but we will aim to continue our unbeaten run.
Our 2nd win out of 2 games is a good start for the club but the real tests start today and away Wednesday night at Seven Acres ( Thamesmead ground ) so we wont get too carried away.
Last week saw us wear our new kit and would like to thank H D Construction for their support and sponsorship, also this season we have a new Yellow away kit supplied by Europa Sports so thank Alan for his support.
The U14s won 7 - 0 against a Tonbridge side a league above them and look a very good Team under the guidence of Chris Fisher who also coaches the Ladies and they got a great 2 - 1 win against a highly rated Crawley Wasps side after going behind.
The U14s play am at the club on Sundays with the Ladies pm so are well worth checking out.
I just want to thank every one who helped out at the club during the close season in the work that was carried out but there is still along way to go as things will be improved through out the season.
Alan has updated the new look website so log on and have a browse www.crockenhillfc.co.uk
Good luck to all our teams this weekend
COME ON YOU CROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chairman’s Notes - 19/08/2015
Chairman’s Notes - 31/08/2015
Today we welcome our local rivals Orpington to Wested Meadow for our KIV fixture local being just the other side of the village. They have made a good start to the season and look forward to a close tough game.
Our recent results v Bearsted and Bridon Ropes have proved we are now a team with good battleing and football qualities and never say die attitude after conceeding the 1st goal a thing not shown in previous seasons.
Losing 2 - 1 to Bearsted in the 93rd minute was tough after being the better side in the 2nd half and falling for the old sucker punch at the death, the Bridon game was more a game where both teams missed chances and Bobby in goal saved everything even their penalty but was scored on the rebound.
An injury to Josh Liverpool in the Bridon game put a dampener on the result but we hope he has a speedy recovery
Next month we only have 1 home game on the 12th v Rusthall but Bexley will be playing at Wested on the other Saturdays. On the 5th we are away to Glebe who play in Chistlehurst so you can come along and support the lads
Crocks August Awards

Bobby Sturgeon collecting his Save/Tackle of the month award from David Smith
Reece Cullen collecting his ‘Bitt-of-er Lemon ‘ award for his howling miss vs Eltham Palace this month
Bobby Sturgeon collecting his ‘Player of the Month award’ voted by the squad, chairman and management, runner up was Ryan Cullen
Voice from the pitch - September 2015 - Bobby Sturgeon
I’d like to thank my team mates for their vote for this player of the month award. Playing with such an encouraging and supportive bunch of lads has made it easy to be at my best and put in a few decent performances.
Committing to the club this summer was an easy decision after seeing the hunger and positive mentality of the management at the club i.e. Liam & John, who have noticeably stamped their authority on the club after their appointment in the close season. They have instilled an ethos of family togetherness throughout the club.
We got off to a great start to the league campaign winning the first two games and scoring 9 goals. This was a great confidence boost for the team. We were very unlucky to have lost by a late goal to arguably the favourites to win the league this season. Hopefully we will soon get our own share of the luck throughout the season by keeping our work rate up.
The squad has a good mix of senior and young hot prospects, all of who have the determination and talent to do well this season, by staying focused and motivated which will come easily by listening to club captain Ian and vice captain Kev who are great motivators on the pitch and in the dressing room.
The ground improvement works that have been facilitated by Club chairman Steve Cullen and the management of the club have not gone unnoticed and it’s encouraging to see that all personnel throughout club are moving forwards together.
The Crockenhill F.C. social club must be the most welcoming, cosy social club about. So thanks to Steve and the staff who are running the bar and hot food counter every matchday.
The past few weeks we have realised that we will need to stay at our best to defeat the opposition we face each game. There are a lot of solid teams in the league that just don’t give up throughout a full 90mins. So..
C’mon Crocks keep digging deep!
Today we welcome Rusthall to Wested Meadow and despite their poor league position they are much better than that suggests and will give us a stern test today.
What a great display from the lads last week at Glebe in their 2 - 1 win but really disappointed with their poor display after the game with players and supporters showing a poor attitude to defeat, sometimes you just have to take it on the chin and say we were out fought there, we have had it a few times here in the last few seasons but there is a way to lose and being slagged off by supporters isnt the way. Last week was a great result and the hard work around the club is now bringing some much needed spirit to the club off and on the pitch.
The U14s continued to impress in their friendly on Sunday but the Ladies lost 4 - 1 in their 1st League game with many players away on holiday and Lauren Henry is out for 3 months with her knee injury.
We have made many improvements around the ground recently, the ground entrance has been tarmaced and would like to thank Ian for sorting that out and more will be done when funds become available. A big thankyou to Dan Perfect for sorting out the hard standing behind the goal so there is now access to go behind there with out being attacked by nettles. Lastly thanks to Alan for sorting out the website and providing up to date information regarding the club.
We are looking for anyone who might know a couple of scaffolders who would be willing to help out finishing off the grid behind the goal so we can complete the netting to save some of the balls from going over the fence, please let me know we have the tube just need the know how. These things have been possible due to funds raised in recent months and we have a few events at the club in October a music night on Friday 2nd, a Quiz Night on the 17th probably have teams of 4 paying £3 each and a Halloween Party on the 31st, tickets £5 each which includes a raffle ticket, if you cant come buy a ticket and support the club and help us continue to improve the club.
Today we welcome Lewisham Borough to Wested Meadow for our KIL fixture which always provides goals and exciting football as our 3-0 win at Wested last season suggests, followed by a
6-4 defeat at Ladywell Arena. Ray and his busy staff are most welcomeing at the Arena and are a credit to the League . They havent had the best of starts to the season but we wish them well after todays game and look forward to the away game.
Ladywell Arena is the venue where we play Forest Hill park on Wednesday 14th Oct ko 7 - 30pm and look forward to seeing some of you there
Last weeks game v AC London was abandoned with the score at 1-1 after 35 mins with the Crocks having 2 sent off and AC 4, after a fight broke out and will take a while to sort out all the implications with the club being charged for failing to control players although cant say more than that really.
On a positive note the U14s won their 2nd game 4-3 away after being 3-0 down at half time and play Kent Football this Sunday at Wested who finished runners up last season so should be a good test for the boys.. Come along and see the future Crockenhill Stars and you wont be disappointed, kick off 11am.
The Ladies drew away to Bogey team Long Lane trailing 1-0 at half time in a half they totally dominated but lack of confidence in front of goal led to many misses. However, their heads never dropped and a good battling 2nd half saw them draw level which turned out to be their best performance this season. Their hard work seems to now be reaping some rewards for them, with their next game on Sunday 11th at Home to Eastbourne Ladies ko 2pm followed by a Kent Cup game v London Corinthians ko 1:30pm.
We will be holding our September 100 Club draw on Sunday 4th October and many thanks if you have entered it but you can still get involved today its just £5 a month forms are behind the bar.
We have a Quiz Night planned for the 17th October 7-30 start, with Teams of 4 people if possible each paying just £3 to enter followed by a Fancy Dress Halloween Party 8pm start which is £5 a ticket. The ticket will be entered in a raffle draw so even if you cant make it, buy a ticket to help pay for outgoings and you may win a prize.
Today we welcome Sheppey Utd to Wested Meadow for our KIV fixture a team that beat us quite easily last season but Im sure we will give them a sterner test this time and hope they have a safe journey back home but leave us the points.
Since our last Home fixture we have played away to Forest Hill park losing 3 - 2 after leading at half time and missing a late penalty but the game will be remebered for the blatent time wasteing including their keeper just walking off the pitch to relieve himself while we were waiting to take a freekick.
On Saturday we Won 4 - 3 in the Kent Senior Trophy away to APM Contrast and have a Home tie v Holmesdale on Saturday 28th November 1 30pm kick off.
The U14s have become a bit of a 2nd half team having pulled victories after trailing at half time.
They won 2 weeks ago 4 - 3 after being 3 - 0 down and this week won 5 - 3 after being 2 - 0 down and play Fleetdown in the Selkent Cup this Sunday kick off 10 - 30am so come along and support them.
The Ladies lost 6 - 1 at Home to London Corinthians in the Kent Cup a team a division above but you have to enter the Cup which you can never win but are at Home next on November 1st kick off 2pm.
Please note our Home kick off times will change to 2PM from November through to the begining of February due to the light and will be 1 - 30PM for Cup fixtures so our Cup game at Home to Glebe on November 14th will be 1 - 30PM
On Saturday 31st October we have a Halloween Fancy Dress Party starting about 8Pm and tickets are £5 each available behind the bar
Good Luck to all our teams this weekend
COME ON YOU CROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chairman’s Notes - 24/10/2015
Today we welcome high flyers Glebe to Wested Meadow who currently sit at the top of the League and will be looking for revenge as we beat them away earlier in the season
2 - 1 but this is a Cup game where anything can happen.
Rocky has done a great job getting Foxbury Avenue up and running and wish him continued success in the future
Last week saw us lose 5 - 0 to APM Contrast away in very windy conditions, 0 - 0 at half time where we had the wind behind us but a mixture of gamesman ship and good goal keeping meant we didnt score and more gamesmanship 2nd half saw them run out winners.
The Ladies drew 2 - 2 with Long Lane after being 2 - 0 down and are now looking a much better unit . They are at home this week to Burgess Hill ko 2pm.
The U14s lost 6 - 0 to Cray Valley in the Kent Youth Cup although no disgrace against a team many Leagues above them but still have a 100% record in the League and are at Home Sunday before the Ladies at 11am so come along and make a day of it and support the teams.
Many thanks to everyone who came along for the Halloween party and made the effort to dress up and to Jade for spending the day getting it all ready for everyone with the decorations.
We have a Race Night at Crayford Dogs on Friday November 27th and tickets are £5 behind the bar with all ticket monies going to the club so even if you cant make it buy a ticket and support the club.
Good Luck to all our teams this weekend
COME ON YOU CROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
